Check out Trifantasy Trio's Impressive Tetris Theme Cover
A YouTube video surfaced showcasing Trifantasy Trio's unique spin on the Tetris theme song.
There are countless covers of the Tetris theme song out there, all with their own unique style and flair. Something many may not know is that the Tetris theme song actually got its start as a Russian folk tune entitled Korobeiniki. Gradually, the song metamorphosed into a completely new entity. Today, Tetris fans can’t help but hum as they clear lines and build stacks.
Additionally, it’s a song that’s perfect for musicians to cover thanks to its familiarity. Some musicians prefer to record Tetris on the accordion, while others use their voice to perform it acapella style. Meanwhile, Trifantasy Trio decided to dabble with a more traditional rendition using the piano, violin, and cello.
As you can see in the video, the three talented musicians sync up with one another like Tetriminos in Tetris. Playing Tetris on one instrument is certainly a challenge, but playing it in unison with two other musicians is quite the task. It requires practice (just like Tetris), dedication, and a good connection with your fellow musicians.
The video inspired us to wonder, what instrument would you choose to cover the Tetris theme on if you had the chance? Would you stick with something traditional, like the piano or violin, or would you pick up something a bit more off-beat like a tin whistle? If you’ve covered the Tetris theme song, be sure to send us your rendition on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
